Expanding the Circle: Online Graduate Opportunities

South Dakota State University is committed to providing higher education opportunities to fulfill the need for faculty members at Tribal Colleges and Universities to acquire graduate credits to meet HLC standards, as well as offer online graduate level courses for faculty/staff at technical and community colleges and K-12 schools. If you are interested in enrolling in an online graduate course, please complete the process outlined below. If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.

Graduate School Application Process

1. Go to our online application.
2. Create an account and choose a password. You will then be issued a PIN number.
3. Once you are in the application, indicate that you are a Domestic Non-Degree Seeking Applicant in the term section.
4. Include course name and course code (listed below). You do not need to upload any documents.
5. Select pay via cash/check on the application fee page. We will waive the application fee for you.

Once we process your application, we will register you for the requested course(s) and send a confirmation email to you. In that email, you will be provided your student ID number and additional non-degree seeking information. Thanks for choosing SDSU!

Assess Your Cultural Intelligence - James Rattling Leaf

Cultural Intelligence (CQ) is a globally recognized way of assessing and improving effectiveness in culturally diverse situations. The CQ Assessment is a research-based inventory that will help you understand your cultural intelligence (CQ) by measuring your skills in four distinct areas. The personalized feedback report will provide you the opportunity to review your scores and set a personal development plan to improve those skills over time.

2024 Fall Term

• Aug. 26, Monday - Start Date/Instruction begins
• Sept. 2, Monday - Labor Day Holiday
• Sept. 5, Thursday - Last day to drop or add and adjust final fees
• Sept. 6, Friday - Fall tuition and fees payment due; “W” grade begins
• Sept. 13, Friday - Last day to submit a graduation application for Fall 2024
• Oct. 14, Monday - Native American Day Holiday
• Nov. 8, Friday - Last day to drop a course
• Nov. 11, Monday - Veterans’ Day Holiday
• Nov. 27-December 1, Wednesday – Sunday - Thanksgiving Recess
• Dec. 11, Wednesday - No classes; Final Exam Preparation
• Dec. 12-18, Thursday – Wednesday* - Final exams 
• Dec. 23, Monday - Grades due by midnight
• *Dec. 18 – official graduation date noted on transcript
  Note: There is no Fall 2024 Commencement Ceremony
